It looks like they may not make it (no surprise for PPM), but I thought I'd mention it. I like the clear bases, but the paint quality is pretty bad on some.

So, I backed them because I want to support the little guy, but their shipping costs are stupid high. $35 and they are 3 states away from me!

Though the shipping does go down with higher bids. $12 at the $100 option.

Though I fear even if they somehow make it, they would still probably not have enough capital to produce the goods.

It's really not that bad of a deal. If this was released back when Paizo and WotC weren't producing minis I'm sure they'd do so much better, but right now that market is fairly saturated with both big companies putting out pretty nice prepainted plastic. I think the clear plastic bases are ingenious and I wish ALL my minis had these! Is great to see the terrain beneath the minis feet. Would look so much better on a battle mat! The paint jobs remind me of some of the original Mage Knight figures. I wish them luck, but it doesn't look like it'll pull through.

I have seen several folks do this with their minis. On the Dwarven Forge Forum there were many who liked it so you would have a better visual.

As for me, while I think it is cool to look at, I just can't imagine the work it would take to do. I mean I would need clear bases for all the sizes and then to have to cut all of them off their existing bases would just be a pain. Not to mention the effort to do it so you don't get the glue ghosting that often happens to clear plastic parts. Anyone ever build plastic cars or airplanes? Remember the white finger prints?.

I will stick to my black bases and deal with the odd shadow that seems to be around all monsters, NPCs, PCs, and some terrain.

After seeing these in person at Gencon they look much better than the pictures on the KS site. Also, the shipping is a non-issue.

Off topic: I also saw the Agricola townsfolk minis at Gencon and they looked nice too.

Yep, that is something you would have to be careful with, but with some care and the right amount of glue it could be done. Too bad it didn't make it. I didn't pledge, but might have considered.

Well, they are back and have already made their goal:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/r4 ... =user_menu

Thus far I'm getting 14 PPM minis for $50. Not bad, though I don't really need more zombies, skeletons, orcs, or adventurers some of them are cool looking, like the Skeleton Blademaster, Male Zombie Captain, or the female orcs.

Check them out! Also, the pics still don't look as good as these looked at Gencon last year.

It look's like they made it with their 2nd try. Good for them and any that pledged. Sorry to say I wasn't in on it.
